EMPITES-JUNE 2014

This blog is very late coming out.  These items were for June 2014.  I do apologize for the delay. I have been very busy with nail school and work and kids and family and such.  I will try my best to keep things on schedule moving forward.
I have quite a few items to get through.  Please check out the video below for more info on these products.  Also, let me know if you use any of the items listed and your thoughts about them and any suggestions on products I should try.  So let's go ahead and get started....

Neutrogena Make Up Remover Cleansing Towelettes:  I got these at Ulta for $1.99.  They are located at the checkout lines.  There are 7 towelettes in the pack.  Since they are quite large, cut them in half to get more for my money.  I do this will all of my face wipes. I will look into getting more.  I really like them.  They are lightly scented and did not irritate my skin at all.

PONDS Wet Cleansing Towelettes- Original, Luminous Clean and Evening Soothe:  I love PONDS facial wipes and I use them all the time.  I usually use the purple pack (Evening Soothe) with White Tea and Chamomile.  The wipes are large so I can cut them in half to get more uses.  The towelettes are all the same except for the Exfoliating ones (not pictures) that have little yellow "numbs" on them to gently scrub your face.  These were features in a previous empties blog.  The ones shown are my regular ones, the Original, which I got on sale at Meijer when they had selected trial size items for $1.00.  There are 5 towelettes in the trial size.  The Luminous Clean ones were a bonus pack with the Evening Soothe.  I got it at Target on sale for about $3.94.  The Luminous Clean towelettes broke my face out.  They have Kaioln Clay in them.  I started to get break outs a few days after using them and they went away after I stopped using them.  I had bought a larger pack and gave them to my co-worker and they work great for her.

Heavenly Silk Daily Skin Nourishing Moisturizer Anti-Aging & Firming Lotion:  The name is a mouthful.  I got this in a Beauty Box and fell in love.   I have mentioned this product in several of my blogs.  I have recently purchased another bottle.  It is a very good moisturizer.  You can use it all over, but I only use it on my face.  There is a strong perfumed scent, so if you don't like to put perfumed items on your face, you may not like this product.  The smell, to me, is nice and this product does not irritate my skin.  I got it on ebay for $3.99.

NOXZEMA Deep Cleansing Cream + Moisturizers:  I have talked about this product before as well. I have been using NOXZEMA for many years.  It is gentle and does not irritate my skin.  I use this after I take of my eyemakeup with an eye make up remover, then I use the NOXZEMA to take off all of my other make up.  I always get a jar when they are on sale and I have a $1.00 and keep it for backup.  I will never run out.  It can run $5.99 regular price and the jar lasts a long time.  A little bit goes a long way.

WET n WILD Eye Make-Up Remover:  I have talked about this product many times.  Worst eye make up remover...EVER!  It is very strong smelling.  If you get this in your eye, be prepared to feel the burn.  It claims to be great for those with sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.  This claim is false.  When you get the product up to your eye, it is so strong your eyes will water.  I did use it up, but will not be purchasing it.

ALMAY Oil Free Gentle Eye Make Up Remover Pads:  Now these are great eye make up removers.  Almay i known for it's gentle products and this one is no exception.  I first learned out these from watching TATI  (Glamlifeguru)on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/user/GlamLifeGuru.  This is a trial size, that I got at Meijer for $1.00.  I purchased 4 total and will be buying more.  These take off the eye make up with no problem.  Even if I do get a bit in my eye, it did not sting or burn.  There are 15 in each trial size.  I am not for sure how many are in the regular size, but it runs anywhere from $4.99 to $5.99.  These were a great value as I got 60 pads for $4.

TREE HUT Shea Body Butter - Coconut Lime:  I first heard about Tree Hut when I got a this in a Beauty Box.  I love the smell and how it moisturizes.  I later found out that Ulta sells Tree Hut and when Ulta had these on sale for buy 1 get 1 50% off in June, I went crazy.  I got this and the body wash that goes with it and the Almond & Honey and Brazilian Nut scent too.  Please check out the video for my Ulta Birthday Haul http://youtu.be/g5Pfs0L7mTQ.  These shea butters are very rich and a little is all you need.  I put these on at night before bed.  The smell is so amazing.  At Ulta the regular price is about $7.50 each.

Fortune Cookie Soap Cuticle Butter - Marshmallow Dreams:  I love the Fortune Cookie Soap Box.  You can sign up for their box on the website fortunecookiesoap.com.  The boxes are $19.99 each and are sent 4 times per year.  This cuticle butter is amazing.  It is made up of about 6 different oils (Olive oil, Mineral oil, Palm oil, etc.)  It is rich and this small container lasts for a while.  You only need a small amount.  I have already repurchased this item twice.  The cost is $8.95 each.  When you get your box there is card inside that describes what you received.  Also on that card there is a code for $10 off your next order.  When I ordered my last pot of this, I got one of their perfumed oils too.  With my $10 off I only paid about $15 for my order with shipping.  What a deal.  I just got my Fall box, so stay tuned for the video and blog about that coming soon.

Fortune Cookie Soap Facial Scrub - Lemon Drop It Likes It's Hot Microdermabrasion Scrub:  This a light facial scrub that smells very much like citrus.  The scrub is not too harsh as to irritate the skin.  I really liked this product and may look into getting a bigger bottle.  The larger one sells for $14.99.

NUBAR Cuticle Oil:  This  came in my first Beauty Box.  It is a cuticle oil with a light scent of pomegranate.  It is nothing special.  It did alright with moisturizing my cuticles.  Nothing to write home about with this product.

CLEAN & CLEAR Morning Burst Facial Scrub w/Boosting Beads:  I got this from Walmart and featured it in a haul.  It is a trial size product. I love the Clean & Clear line and wanted to try this.  I think I spent less than a $1 for this.  It has a wonderful citrus smell that is very refreshing and helps to wake you up.  There a little beads that burst when you apply it and help leave you skin very soft.  I will look into getting either another sample or a full size.  The full size can run from $4.99 to $5.99.  I have a few other Clean and Clear items and working through and I love them all.

John Frida Frizz Ease Hairspray:  I used to use Frizz Ease many years ago when it came in a packet with 2 applications for $1.99.  Unfortunately I cannot find them any more.  I have found other products to take it's place that work just as good and for a more reasonable price.  I was at CVS waiting on a prescription and realized I was almost out of hairspray.  I usually buy my hairspray at the DollarTree.  I was this product in the trial sizes and decided to purchase it.  This hairspray is very good.  For those who live in humid climates and your hair falls easily due to the weather, this is a great hairspray for you.  It did not weigh my hair down and did not leave a residue.  I may get another the next time I head to CVS.  I think this was less than $2.00.

Gelish Mini Nail Surface Cleanse:  I bought this a while ago when I first started putting a gel overlay on my nails.  I later found out that using 91% alcohol works just as good and is much cheaper.  This product was about $4.00 at Sally's Beauty.  This is used to take off the tackyness after applying a gel product.

Beauty Secrets Pure Acetone:  This is the acetone I use mostly.  You get this at Sally's Beauty.  This is a smaller size and can run about $2.00 or you may get it on sale.  I also us the pure acetone from Family Dollar.  It works just as good and it is only $1.

SOFTEE Super Freeze Protein Styling Gel:  This is my favorite styling product and it is only $1 at Dollar Tree.  It is clear and lightweight, and doesn't flake.  I use this to tame flyaways.  I have used this product for many years.

AVON Skin So Soft Original Bath Oil:  One of AVON's most popular products.  It has been around as long as AVON has been around.  I love this oil.  It has so many uses.  I use it right after I shower.  I towel dry the apply this with a spray bottle.  This products also comes in a spray bottle, which is what I use and buy the large bottle to refill it.  After applying, I pat any excess off.  This is great all times of year.  It has a light woody scent.  There are a few other scents but I love the Original the best.  I got this one on sale for $6.99.  There is a larger size than this one too.

AVON Moisture Therapy Intensive Healing & Repair Extra Strength Cream:  This is my go to lotion.  I have dry skin and this lotion works great, especially on my hands.  It is a thick, rich formula that absorbs quickly and is not greasy.  This is a fragrance free product.  The regular price is $6.00 but I got it on sale for $3.99.

Bath and Body Works Foaming Body Wash - Sea Island Cotton:  One of my favorite scents from Bath and Body Works.  It is a nice clean fragrance.  I have talked about this product in a previous empties video.  I have recently purchased another shower gel and lotion in this scent.  I am going to stock up on this so I never run out.  It got this foaming body wash on ebay too for about $3.00.

I told you I had a lot of things to present to you.  Please check out the video below for more info.  I would love for you to share your experience with any of these products.  I would love to hear from you.  Thank you for reading and watching.

Ebay Haul #7

I got some great deals from ebay recently.  It took a while to get everything so that I could do this review, but it was worth it.  Ebay is a great place to find items you have been looking forward to trying.  Most of the time you can find sample size products, so if you don't like them, you did not pay a lot for it.  All of the products listed below are some that I have already tried and some new that I have not.  I was very happy with all of these items.  Please enjoy and thanks for reading.  Make sure to check out the video below for more info and many more videos on my youtube channel.

Heavenly Silk Daily Skin Nourishing Moisturizer Anti-Aging & Firming Lotion:  A long name for a great product.  I have talking about this product before in my Hearts n Horns and my Beauty Box review.  I first heard of this product from a Beauty Box and fell in love with it.  It is a rich, scented moisturizer that you can use all over your body. I use it only on my face.  Before I put on my primer I use this to help moisturize any dry patches.  I get them around my nose and mouth and sometimes under my eyes.  This lotion takes care of that dryness with no problem.  I only paid $3.99 for this small size.  The larger bottles run about $11.  This one will last me for a while and I may consider getting a bigger bottle.

ULTA eyeshadow single:  I do not have any ULTA eyeshadow and I wanted to try them out.  This color is called Twilight and it is a light taupe shade that would be a great all over the lid color.  It can also be used as a transition color too.  I used it over the Maybelline Color Tattoo shade in Bad to the Bronze, so that it would last all day.  I also used the Urban Decay original primer potion.  With the fall coming sooner than we would like, this color would be perfect and I plan on using it all winter.  The texture is smooth and it blends nicely.  I paid about $1 for this.

NYX eyeshadow single:  Here is another great color for the upcoming Fall season.  This color is called Walnut.  It is a toasty, nutty color which goes with the name.  It makes a great lid color or transition color. This one was about $1.00 too.

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush:  I was looking for a blush to use and found this one.  I don't usually wear blush but wanted to try it and wanted a color that would flatter and not make me look like a clown.  I found the Wet n Wild blush in Pearlescent Pink that I showed in a recent haul and this one.  It looks very bright, but this cream blush is very nice and light.  It is very creamy and blends well.  You can use a brush but I use my finger.  It sheers out really well to a light pink blush of color.  It is very soft and spongy too.  The price of this was $1.50.

URBAN DECAY Pigment:  I bought another one of these a few months ago in Rock Star which is a beautiful purple.  This color is Goddess.  It is a blue/black with sparkle.  These pigments are very "pigmented" and blend out well.  I have not used this one yet but the one in Rock Star I have used and really like it.  I love purple eyeshadow and Rock Star is a great on.  This one should go on as well as Rock Star, but I will let you know.  I paid about $3.00 for this product.

URBAN DECAY Primer Potion Sample Card:  This sample card has one of each primer potion (original, eden, sin and anti-aging).  There is a lot of product in each of these samples, so you will not need primer for a long time.  I have been using the original, sin and anti-aging.  They are long wearing and help to keep your eyeshadow from creasing.  I find that they last, on myself, for up to 10 hours.  I have not experienced it for 24 hours as the card states.  It also helps to keep eyeliner on the lower lash line from smuding.  I always put primer on my lower lash line, apply a liner and then a shadow over the top for staying power.  They all go on sheer.  Sin has a bit of shimmer to it but not much.  Eden is a matte.  The anti-aging claims to give 100% measurable improvement in the appearance of fine lines and brigher skin.  I have not used the anti-aging long enough to see those kind of results, yet.    This is a good way to try out the primer potions to see which you like better without having to spend a lot of money.  I paid $2.50 for this sample card.

Too Faced Shadow Insurance Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer:  I have been trying different eye shadow primers lately and will be doing a review soon.  This primer is a good one.  It is a bit oily, so you will need to shake it up or massage the tube first.  It goes on like any other primer.  It helps your eye shadow last all day.  I really like this primer.  I keeps my shadow on for approximately 6-8 hours before it starts to break down and start to crease.  I paid $3.00 for this sample size.

Tarte Clean Slate Poreless 12-hr Perfecting Primer:  I am totally in love with this primer.  I raved about the Victoria Secret Air FX primer but this one is, hands down, much better.  This is a sample size, but it will last for a while.  This primer keeps my make up fresh.  It smooths your pores so that your foundation goes on smoothly and evenly.  I will be getting full size tube. This sample size was $2.50

Tarte Prime Shine and Define To Go Kit:  I only paid $8.00 for this kit which can sell for $20 or more.  You get a face primer, an Illuminating BB Cream and a mascara in Gifted.  I like the BB cream as it is light and adds a nice highlight to your skin.  I did have to shake it up a bit as it does have an oil base.  As you can see below, when I first took off the top you can see  the oil and you can see the difference after I shook it up.  The mascara has a dry formula, which I like and the brush are natural bristles which separates and does not clump.  I have heard reviews that this mascara transfers, but I have not experienced that at all.  It defines my lashes and is light and weightless.

CLINIQUE Naturally Gentle Eye Makeup Remover:  I have been experimenting with eye makeup removers and eye primers.  After my experience with the Wet N Wild eye makeup remover, I wanted to see what else was out there.  This eye makeup remover is very gentle as the name implies.  It is a lotion that you apply to your eyes and then wipe off with a tissue, or cotton round or even a wash cloth.  It takes off your eye makeup without irritation.  There is no smell which is good too.  I only paid $1.50 for this, and CLINIQUE can be rather pricey.

LANCOME Bi-Facil Eye Make Up Remover:  This is a really gentle remover as well.  It has to be shaken to combine the two layers.  I use this with a cotton round and it takes off all my eye makeup with no problem.  It does not irritate my eyes at all.  There is no smell to this remover.  I will look into getting another one of these.  I really like it.  It paid about $2.00 for this sample size.

e.l.f The Beauty Encyclopedia Smoky Edition:  I paid less than $5 for this palette.  The eyeshadows are substantial.  You get a lot of product.  I did not like that there was only one applicator, but I use brushes anyway, but would like to have seen a few more applicators included.  There is also a black eyeliner.  The mirror in this palette is a good size.  I like the eyeshadows, but would have liked to see a bit more color choices.  While there are some nice shades, I would have liked to see a brown or beige.  I have used a few of these and the pigmentation is ok.  I really like the matte black.  It is really deep.  Most of the colors are sheer and you have to build them up.  The texture of some are very soft and some are chalky.  The black is very soft.  The e.l.f eyeshadows I have are much better than those in this palette.  It is a bit of a hit or miss.

Real Technique DUPS:  These brushes resemble the Real Technique brushes.  I paid less than $5 for all three.  The two that are identical, I use for powder.  They are very soft and apply my finishing powder very well.  The tapered brush I use for powder when setting my concealer.  It gets into the hollow of my eye very well.  There are so many of these brushes available on ebay for almost nothing.  I have since gotten another one that is similar to the two identical ones, but it is not as dense and has a domed head.  If you don't want to spend the money for the Real Techniques brushes or cannot get them, these are a great alternative.

I hope you enjoyed this review of my recent purchased from ebay.  Please check out the video below for more info.  If you have any questions, please leave a comment.  I would love to hear from you.  Thanks for reading and watching.
