Hearts n Horns - May 2014

These are my Hearts ~n~ Horns for May 2014.  Not many and some I have spoken about before in haul videos.  I do have another one that I am on the fence about.  I seem to have as least one.  I hope you enjoy this review.  If you have used or are using any of these items, please leave a comment and check out the video review as well.

Wet n Wild Eye Make-up Remover:  I reviewed this in a haul a bit ago.  I did say that it was very strong and not great for sensitive eyes, even though the back says it is.  I don't have sensitive eyes but I do wear glasses.  The smell of this product is very strong for anyone.  The first time I used it, I tried to take off my mascara and eyeliner and got some in my eye and it burned like crazy.  I have used it only to take off my eyeshadow and brow liner.  When I need to remove my mascara and eye liner I use a PONDS wipe which does not irritate my eyes are all, even if I get some into my eye.  I wanted to use this up, since I don't like wasting anything.  I have used it up and have purchased some other eye makeup remover from ebay that I will be testing.  If you would like to see a review on different eye makeup removers, leave a comment.

Wet n Wild Mega Protein mascara:  I had a $1 coupon and used it on this item.  The total cost was $.89.  I have likes and dislikes about this product.  I like that the formula is light and doesn't weigh down my lashes, but I don't like that the formula is too thin and takes a long time to dry.  It transfers on the top and bottom leaving spots.  I like that it did not clump my lashes and it defined them.  Maybe after the formula gets a bit drier, some of the problems I was having will go away.

PONDS Rejuveness Anti-Wrinkle Cream:  I featured this in a Walmart haul a few months ago.  This was in the trial sizes.  I use POND'S wipes and really love them.  This cream is great.  I use this at night after I remove all makeup and apply acne cream.  It leaves my skin very soft and helps minimize lines.  I have a few under my eyes and this helps to make them less prominent.  I notice it I don't use it, you can see them more.  This was less than $2.  I may purchase a regular size jar or get another trial size.  You only need a little bit.  I still have not even used 1/2 of this small size.  I will but using it for quite a while before needing another.

\
e.l.f Long-Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow (Feisty) and High Definition Undereye Setting Powder (Sheer):  I featured the eyeshadow in a haul.  I really love this eyeshadow and this color.  Purple is my favorite color for eyeshadow.  In the pot it looks like there would be a lot of glitter, but it does not show that on the lid.  This eyeshadow gel blends out so beautifully and works great as a liner. The pigmentation is off the charts. The undereye setting powder is great for setting your concealer and applying after using eyeshadow primer to take off the tackiness.  You only need a little bit.  It is great for all skin tones since it is sheer.  It is like you are not applying anything.  These both sell for $3 each.

I hope you enjoyed this review.  Please check out the video listed below.  If there are any products that you think I should try, please leave a comment.  It would love to hear from you.  Thanks for reading and watching.

Beauty Box 5 - JUNE 2014

Here is my review for the Beauty Box 5 for the month of June 2014.  I really enjoyed the items in this month's box.  I have use for all the products I received.

NICKA K nail color:  This color is lovely but doesn't have a name.  It is a deep, warm red that would be a great Fall color.  I will be using this quite a bit.  It goes on very creamy in one coat.  I have not tested the longevity but I will get back with you.  I will be looking into purchasing more of these.  They retail at $4.99 each.

GLAM NATURAL mascara - black:  This mascara has a great formula.  It is not too dry or too wet.  I like the brush and it goes on without clumping.  I have not experienced any flaking or transferring.  It is also light and does not weigh down my lashes.  This retails for $28.00 each.

ESLOR Soothing Gel and Cream:  I have not heard of this brand but I do like the products.  They are both hydrating and soothing to the skin.  I have not had any breakouts using these products.  There are no parabens in either item.  They are a but pricey at $65.  I don't know if that would a purchase I will be making, as I as other products that do about the same thing for much, much less, but I did enjoy these samples.

SEDONA LACE Synthetic Blending Brush EB13:  I am in LOVE with this brush. It is like the e.l.f blending brush, but a bit longer.  The e.l.f brush is my favorite brush and this one from Sedona Lace is about to take it's place.  It is a a very soft brush that blends out shadow like a dream.  It has a bit of weight to it also, not as light at the e.l.f brush.  I will definitely be looking into getting more of these brushes.  These retail for $8.95 each.

DESIGN ESSENTIALS Natural Curling Enhancing Mousse: I do not have use for this product on myself but I have been using it on my sons who have naturally curly hair.  This works great to tame their curls.  It smells amazing.  I think it smells like cherry jello.  It keeps their curls in check without leaving their hair stiff and crunchy.  It also leaves a nice shine.  You can also use this if you have loose wavy hair too. I will be getting more of this.  I was previously using the curl gel from AVON but they discontinued it, so this will be their new hair product.  These retail for $15.99 each.

I hope you enjoyed this review.  Please check out the video review below.  I really, really enjoyed these items.  Some boxes have been hit or miss but this one was a home run.  I hope that future boxes will be as great or better.  Thanks for reading and watching.

ULTA Birthday Haul

My birthday was June 10 and I got some money as a gift and went shopping at Ulta. For the month of June until the 28th, there is a great sale.  These are some of the items, I purchased and wanted to share with you.  With the discounts per items and the coupon of $3.50 off purchases of $10, I saved a bit.  The bad thing about the $3.50 coupon is that you cannot use it on the higher end products.  Go to the web site ulta.com to see the brands that you cannot use this discount on and print out a coupon even if you are not signed up to receive the flyers each month or are part of the rewards program.  The rewards program is free and you can get set up at checkout.  I hope you enjoy this review.  I will be going back before this sale ends to get a few more items, so another haul will be forthcoming.

OPI Nail Lacquer - German-ICure:  This is a lovely deep color for the upcoming Fall.  It is like a deep chocolate with a bit of burgundy.  I can't wait to use this.  It was in the clearance section for polishes, marked down from $9.00 to $4.50 and I got and additional $.65 off from the coupon. Total $3.85.

PIXEL High Shine Nail Lacquer - Blu Ray Baby:  These run $2.49 each and are on sale for buy 1 get 1 50% off.  I will be getting more PIXEL products.  They have makeup as well as the polishes.  This is a nice sea blue/green, great for the summer and the beach.  I also got $.36 off extra with my coupon making my total for this item $2.13.

Neutrogena Make Up Remover Cleansing Towelettes:  These are in the carts near the check out with lots of other impulse items.  These are $1.99 per pack and have 7 towelettes.  They are great for putting in your bag if you are going out of town for the weekend or going to the gym to have in your bag for a quick cleanup.  I have not used these yet since I have purchased many PONDS wipes.  I just wanted to see if these were as good as the PONDS.  With my discount of $.29, my total for this purchase was $1.70.

FREEMAN Mask - Golden Grain and Mint & Lemon:  I like using masks and I saw that these were on sale for buy 1 get 1 free.  The regular price is $3.99.  I also saw that these are carried at Walgreens too and are currently on sale for the week of June 9 for $2.99.  I used the Mint and Lemon one that is suppose to help with breakouts and the reduction of pores.  I did notice that my breakouts did go down a bit after using it.  I will be using the Golden Grain one tomorrow when I mask again.  It is suppose to hydrate and brighten.  They both have light scents and the application is nice.  You only need a little bit,so these will last you a long time and you will get your money's worth.  The total for these after my discount was $3.41

Tree Hut Shea Body Butter:  I got a Tree Hut body butter in a Beauty Box in Coconut Lime and I fell in love.  These are rich and smell amazing.  You will it in my empties for June.  I found out that Ulta sells Tree Hut products and that they are on sale this month.  They are buy 1 get 1 50% off.  The regular price is 7.49 each.  I decided to get 2 different scents.  The Almond and Honey smells so good, you just want to eat it.  If you have smelled the liquor Amarreto, that is what this smells like.  The formulas are very rich and you only need a little bit.  The Brazilian Nut smells sweet and a bit like mocha.  I love sweet food driven scents for the summer.  I will be getting more Tree Hut items when I go back to Ulta before the sale if over.  I am looking to get the shower gels that go with these.  My total with discount was $9.61.

Almond and Honey

Brazilian Nut

I hope you enjoyed this haul.  I will have another later this month after I go back to get some more items.  This is a pretty good sale and worth the drive.  The Ulta in my area is 30 minutes away from my home and these deals were worth the gas.  Please check out the video below for more info and thanks for reading and watching.  Go to the Ulta sign to sign up for their rewards and emails for upcoming promos and sales.

EMPTIES - MAY 2014

Here are my empties for the month of May 2014.  I don't have as many as last month so this will be short and sweet.  Please check out the video below for more info.

Carmex Healing Lip Balm:  My husband and son love this lip balm and I saw it at the Dollar Tree and decided to try it out.  I do not like dry lips, especially in the winter months.  I fell in love with this lip treatment.  Every time I get in the car, I put this on.  It really keeps my lips moisturized.  This brand has been around for quite a while and I don't know what took me so long to try it.  I usually use AVON lip balms and love the Moisture Therapy one, but this is now my holy grail.  I have other lip balms that will use up but this one will be my mainstay.

Brush Cleaner:  I get this on ebay and have used this for many years.  It is very cheap and lasts for a long time.  I use this to clean my nail art brushes.  It does a great job at removing paint and polish and glitter.  You can use acetone too, but I like this for getting off dried paint. Depending on the ebay seller, you can get this anywhere from $.99 to $3.00.

Heavenly Silk Daily Skin Nourishing Moisturizer:  I got this in a Beauty Box a few months ago.  This is a rich cream that really moisturizes. I put it on before my face primer and it works beautifully keeping my face hydrated. It has a very perfumed fragrance, which doesn't bother me, but some may not like putting lotions on the face that are highly scented.  I was sad when I ran out of this.  It is available on amazon in a large pump for anywhere from $8.00 to $12.00, not including shipping.  I found this same small size on ebay for $3.99.  My face is happy again.  I may look into purchasing a larger bottle in the future, for sure.

AVON Skin So Soft Winter Soft Hand Cream and Body Cream:  I have talked about these items before.  I love these products, especially during the winter months.  The winter are is so much different when it comes to the dryness of your skin.  These products really help to keep your skin moisturized.  They are not greasy and absorb into the skin leaving a light powder scent.  I always purchase them when they are available, and that is starting in the fall.  I keep a hand cream in my car and one at home.  I always have so kind of hand cream in the car, no matter what time of year it is.  I do not like having dry hands.

AVON On Duty Sport 24 deodorant:  I have mentioned this many times before.  I got the bonus size since they were on sale.  This is my fave deodorant.  It does not irritate my skin and has a light scent and work well.

Bath and Body Works Shower Gel - Japanese Cherry Blossom:  This is the small size of their shower gels.  I got this for Christmas.  I love the Japanese Cherry Blossom scent.  It is one of their signature fragrances.  I still have another shower gel, lotion and body spray to get thru.

Bath and Body Works Shower Gel - Sensual Amber:  For those who like woody and musky scents, you will love the Sensual Amber.  This is a great scent for fall.  I have had quite a few Bath and Body Works items in my last few empties.  They all had a small amount left in them so I decided to go ahead and use them to make way for more I am planning to get.  :o)

AVON Luscious Temptations Body Mist - Sensual Sandalwood:  This is an older AVON product that is no longer available.  You can get a few of the other scents on ebay, but I have not seen this one.  I have quite a bit of body products and saw that I had not been using this one.  I like the woody scent.  It has a lot of alcohol in it, but to get that to go away, I spray it on my hand and then wave my hand around so that the alcohol will evaporate and then apply it to my skin.  If I don't do this, it makes me sneeze.  I am going to keep looking to see if I can find this scent again on ebay or amazon,  There were about 4 different ones this line.

Bath and Body Works Shower Gel - Enchanted Orchid:  Another of their signature scents.  It is floral but not too much.  A very nice scent for Spring and Summer.  I have the lotion, perfume and body spray I still have yet to go thru.  I will look into getting another shower gel too.

Jordana 12 hour Made to Last Eyeliner:  My new favorite eyeliner.  I have mentioned this many times.  I have seen it talked about on youtube and found them at Walgreen's right above the Sinful Colors display at the make up counter.  They are $2.99 each.  I said $1.99 in the video, but I was incorrect.  I have 2 back ups of this so I won't be needing any soon..  This goes on smooth an stays put.  I use it with an eyeshadow primer on the bottom lash line which helps it to stay all day.  I even add eyeshadow and smudge it out for a great look as well.

Wet n Wild Brow/Liner - Dark Brown:  These are only $.89 and this week at Walgreens $.69.  (June 9-15th).  I bought another color called Mink Brown when I finished off this one.  It is shade darker.  I still have a Dark Brown I am finishing up.  This can be used as an eye liner or brow liner.  I goes on smooth and lasts all day without fading.  For the price you can beat it and the performance is great too.

Hope you enjoyed my empties for the month of May 2014.  Please watch the video below for  more info.  If you have any questions or suggestions, please leave a comment.  Thanks for reading and watching.

EBAY HAUL

I have not done an ebay haul in quite some time.  I purchase on ebay all the time but just a few things here and there.  Recently I went crazy and bought a lot of items.  This is just part of those that have come in.  I will do another blog on the other items.  I have a lot of nail crystals and make up brushes I am waiting on.  I love ebay because I get new items for a low price.  Being on a budget, ebay helps me get higher end products without the sticker shock.  I hope you enjoy this review.  Check out my you tube video for more info.  The sellers to these products will be listed below and in the description box on my you tube channel.

Nail Art Practice Wheel:  I use these to practice nail art designs.  You get 10 in a pack and they can run from $.99 up to a few dollars.  Sometimes you can get them for even less  I have a lot of these.  I keep them in a storage box so I can reference them for any nail designs I am looking to create.  I also use them to practice new techniques.

Philosophy Amazing Grace:  I like oils much better than some perfumes and colognes.  Oils stay on my skin longer.  When I use perfumes or colognes, I have to use the shower gel, lotion and body spray with the perfume to make the scent last.  Oils are much better sometimes, as the fragrance is more concentrated and will last much longer.  This one by Philosophy is a very clean, fresh scent with an undertone of floral.  Very light for Spring and summer.

BH Cosmetics Baked Eyeshadow - Asteroid:  I got a trio of BH cosmetics eyeshadow in a Beauty Box and really liked them.  They are soft and the pigment is great.  They apply well and blend out well too.  This color is similar to one of the colors in the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette.  As you can see below, they both have the bronze monochrome.  The BH one is very pigmented dry. I used it as an all over the lid color.  The monochrome makes it look like you have more than one color on you eyes.  I added a little bit of a muted gold in the center of my lid and this brought out the color even more.  I used the same muted gold at a brow highlight and just blended the rest of the Asteroid color up into the crease.  It was a very simple eye look and with the monochrome effect it was very nice.  I will look into purchasing more of these and trying them wet.  I paid $1.99 for this.

left to right:  Asteroid and Wet n Wild

Benefit Stay Don't Stray:  I have been trying out a few eyeshadow primers and came across this one.  I have heard a lot about this on you tube and decided to try it out.  This in eyeshadow and concealer primer.  I have used it as both and this product ROCKS!  This is just a sample, but a little bit is all you need.  This is the second one that I have purchased, so that I have a back up.  The both were about $.99 each.  My eyeshadow lasts all day with no creasing or fading.  I have my makeup on for about 6 hours a day and this helps.  As a concealer primer, it works the same way.  No caking or ceasing of your concealer.  This is one of those products that you have to experience to really appreciate all the positive reviews.

Urban Decay Loose Pigment - Rockstar:  Purple is my fave color of eyeshadow and this one is awesome.  Since it is a pigment, technically, it can be used for other things, not just eyes.  The color is bold with a bit of sparkle.  I used this as a crease color and to line the bottom lash line after applying liner.  The sparkle is there but it is not too over powering.  I really like this shade and will look into getting more.  I paid about $4 for this.  I love the packaging.  It is very pretty.

Maybelline Color Tattoo - Bad To The Bronze, Potent Purple:  I have only one other color tattoo, also in purple.  These are really pigmented and are very long lasting.  The eye studio color makes a wonderful base and is very creamy.  It is light enough to blend out and add another color over it.  I used it all over the lid and blended up to the crease.  I then added a muted burgundy in the crease and outer corner with a light pale beige as the brow highlight.  A very simple eye look that lasted with no problems.  When taking of the color tattoo, you will need to use make up remover.  The purple is light and would be a good base for adding the Urban Decay color over for a more intense look.  This one has a more blue undertone that the Urban Decay but blended out is very pretty.  The bronze was $1.99 and the purple was $1.49.

NYX Love in Rio - Amazonian Babes:  I have one NYX trio I got in a Beauty Box with cranberry colors.  This one is nudes.  They are very muted on my skin tone.  These are great for just have a light eye look.  The pigment in these are not as intense as the other one I have.   There is quite a bit of sparkle in these and since they are so sheer, you see more of the sparkle than the color.  I was looking for more pigment out of these, but it fell a bit flat.  I have a few NYX single shadows and those are also very pigmented.  This trio was about $2.99.

Costal Scents Go Palette Paris:  This palette is great for travel with the hard case it comes in.  There's a good variety of colors so that you can create many eye looks.  The pigmentation is hit or miss on some colors but all in all it is a nice go to palette.  The black has shimmer.  I would have liked to see one with a matte finish.  I did use this a used the dark blue as a crease color and the turquoise as a pop of color on the lower lash line.  The look was very nice and tropical but not to bold.  I will look into getting more items from Costal Scents.  This palette was a great deal for about $8.00.

I hope you enjoyed this review.  Stay tuned for the second part of my ebay haul.  Please check out the video below for more info and my you tube channel for more hauls and reviews.  Thanks for reading and watching.
