Fortune Cookie Soap - Summer 2014 Soap Box

Here is my review for the Fortune Cookie Soap Summer Soap Box.  The theme is Candy Aisle.  Everything in this box has a sweet fragrance which is perfect for Summer.  You can sign up for this box at fortunecookiesoap.com.  The box comes 4 times per year (Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter) for $19.99 per box.  You can also purchase items from the web site and the scents are interchangeable. For instance, if you like the smell of the lotion, you can get the same scent in the hand sanitizer.  I hope you enjoy this review and will check out the video below.

"Lick Your Lips" Fortune Cookie Soap:  This is their signature item. A fortune cookie shaped soap.  This one smells like Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream.  The fortune is very nice as well.  These are great novelty items.

"Lollipop Your Cherry" OCD Hand Sanitizer:  This smells like cherries, but also has vanilla, orange and pineapple.   This is something that you want to keep in your purse, bag, desk or car.  I always have one with me.  You just don't know what you are touching anymore.

"Rock Your Socks Off" Solid Sugar Scrub:  If you like the smell of grape candy, then you will love this.  This product is made to exfoliate and soften.  Use this in the bath or shower.

"Captain's Berried Booty" Whipped Cream:  This smells like a bowl of cereal with a berry scent with vanilla, raspberry and tonka beans.  If you like smelling like breakfast, this is the lotion for you.  It is creamy and hydrating.  I just have it on my desk for when I need to hydrate after I do my nails.  I hate having dry hands.

"Sweet Dreamcicle" Wax Tart:  Made with the fragrance of ripe pineapple, orange and vanilla, this really smells like a dreamcicle.  Those use to be my favorite on the ice cream truck.  I have not used this yet, but will report back on the smell when put in a waxless candle diffuser.

"Lemon Drop It Like It's Hot" Microdermabrasion Facial Scrub:  I have used this and love it.  It is a fine scrub with the fragrance of lemon and orange zest.  It gently scrubs your face and leaves it smooth.  I did not get any irritation or break outs from using this.  I will look into repurchasing a bigger bottle.

"The Sweet Spot" Sparkle Me:  Take with you to the beach or the pool for add a bit of sparkle to your tan.  It smells like fruit salad of melon, strawberries, peaches, oranges and pineapple.  There is a fine glitter in the spray but not so much you look like fairies threw up on you.

"Blow Me" Lip Scrub:  If your lips get chapped you will need this product.  It smells like bubblegum and helps to gently remove dead skin from your lips and exfoliate.

I hope you enjoyed this review.  I love these boxes.  The products are great and they are handmade without all the chemicals that other products have.  The smells are wonderful and I can't wait to see what the box in the Fall will bring.  Please check out the video below for more info.  Enjoy and thanks for reading and watching.

Beauty Box 5 - May 2014

Here is my review for the items received in the Beauty Box 5 for May 2014.  I misplaced the card that came with the box, I apologize.  I am happy with most of the products I received this month.

HELLO by Harry Prince:  This is a very fresh fragrance with meyer lemon, mandarin, forsynthia and plumeria.  Great for this time of year.  A very light scent.  For some reason the chemistry in my skin does not hold fragrance long.  I usually have to buy oils or when I go buy perfume or cologne I have to get the bath items, lotions and sprays to layer the scent.  That keeps it on my skin longer.  I may have to look into purchasing this in a larger bottle and will if it comes in a lotion or bath products.

BAN Total ReFresh Cooling Body Cloths:  These are great for this time of year.  Especially if you are in a humid climate, like me.  Put these in your bag when you go off to the beach, the pool or any outing.  When you start feeling a bit "sticky" from the heat, wipe yourself off with one of these.  They are large and soft and leave your skin refreshed and lightly scented.

Masker Aide facial mask:  I have not used this yet.  I got a mask in a previous Beauty Box and I really liked it.  I will get back to you on this product.  It is a full cloth mask.

h20+ Marine Cleansing Gel:  I have gotten quite a few products from this line from Beauty Box.  Some I really liked.  This one, unfortunately, I did not.  It says that it "foams away impurities".  When I used this product, there was no foam or lather.  It is a gel with a few microbeads in it.  I like products that give some type of lather and this fell flat.  It cleaned my face alright, but the foam is non-existent.

CATTIVA Retractable, Waterproof Eyeliner:  I really like this eyeliner.  It goes on very smooth.  I have noticed that if I do not use a primer, it will transfer.  I always use a primer which makes it last without fading or transferring.  Since it is a retractable liner, it is self-sharpening.  I have used AVON eyeliners for many years and love the self-sharpening aspect.  This eyeliner meets my standards and will look into purchasing it again.

I hope you enjoyed this review.  Other than the cleansing gel, I liked all the other items.  I can't wait to see what will be in the next box.  Please check out the video below for more info.  Thanks for reading and watching.

Sally's Beauty #5 and Meijer #7 Haul

Here is another haul from Sally's Beauty and Meijer.  I go to Meijer's every Thursday when I do my grocery shopping.  For those who don't have a Meijer, is it a one stop shopping center.  Sort of like a Super Walmart.  You can get groceries, clothing, shoes, hardware, electronics, drug items, bakery and deli items,  and much more in one place.  I love it.  They always have good deals which is why I have so many hauls from them.

Beauty Secrets Acetone and Pure Acetone:  I purchased another bottle of each.  In my empties video I had two of the big bottles.  These were only $1.99 each.

SALLY GIRL eyeshadow single:  I had seen these on youtube and wanted to look into them.  These are only $.94 each.  I got the one in Cranberry on clearance for $.69.  I have a few of the baked shadows and they are great.  These are like the REVLON singles that you can link together.  I have heard mixed reviews on the REVLON ones.  They are $2.99 each.  The Sally Girl eyeshadows are more affordable and the pigmentation is OFF THE CHARTS.  They are soft and blend well.  You really get the benefit of a higher end product for under $1.  The color Wine is my fave.  It is a really beautiful burgundy that the camera does not justice to how gorgeous it is.  There are about 30 colors and I will be getting more.

Cranberry

Violet

Coffee

Wine

China Glaze Mini Fairy Dust:  This was on clearance for about $1.29.  I have a big bottle, but I love this holographic glitter polish.  I can always use another.

REVLON ColorStay Eyeshadow Quad:  I love Meijer's and their clearance items.  I got this for about $2.50 after my $2.00 coupon and 5% off my grocery order.  I have a few greens in my eyeshadow collection, so one more would not hurt.  I like the two deeper shades.  I have not used these yet, but will report back when I do.  They are soft and the pigment is nice. The color is Pulpeux.

e.l.f Long Lasing Lustrous Eyeshadow:  I recently placed an order on the e.l.f web site.  I saw this product listed but there was only one color available.   I saw that my local Meijer had some of these and chose this color.  I love purple eyeshadow and this one is beautiful.  It is a gel eyeshadow.  I do not have any gel eyeshadows in my collection.  I love how it goes on and lasts all day without fading or creasing.  I did use it with an eyeshadow primer.  The pigmentation is awesome as well.  I will look into getting more colors.  This sold for $3.00.  The color is Festivity.

COVERGIRL Outlast Glosstini:  These are on sale and I had a $.50 coupon and the 5% off.  This is a bright yellow/green.  A great color for the summer.  The color is Appletini.

RIMMEL Lasting Finish Pro:  A lovely olive green with reflects of silver called Rags to Riches.  The next time I go to Meijer, I will have to see if they are discontinuing this line.  When they do, the price will come down even more.  I like a good deal.

PONDS Exfoliating Renewal and Luminous Clean Cleansing Towelettes:  In my empties video and blog I said I did not need to buy any more of these since I have a backup.  So, I lied.  These were on sale and I had a $1 off coupon plus 5% off.  I could not pass this deal up.  These usually run $6 a pack I got them for about $3.  I have another bonus pack that I got from Target that were on sale too.  I and stocked for about 5 months.  There are 30 in a pack but I cut them in half since they are rather large.  I get more out of them and save money. Nothing wrong with that.

I hope you enjoyed this review.  Please check out the video listed below.  If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to ask.  I would love to hear from you.  Thanks for reading and watching.

Hearts ~n~ Horns April 2014 (faves and fails)

I am getting around to doing this a bit late but, hey, better late than never.  These are my product faves and fails for April 2014.  If you have used or use any of these products, please leave a comment.

HORNS

HARD CANDY eyeshadow primer:  I got this when I purchased a hard candy quad on ebay.  I did not like the shadows as they were very chalky, so I gave them to a friend.  I kept the primer to see how I would like it.  I like that it goes on clear, but within a few hours my eyeshadow began to crease.  I have tried it with many different eyeshadows and the result is always the same.  I will use this use since it is just a sample.  I am planning to do a review on different eyeshadow primers and also do an eyeshadow collection.  Let me know what you think in the comments.

AVON AEROVOLUME Mascara:  This is a new item from AVON.  I loved the formula for this mascara.  It is very lightweight and went on so smoothly.  I had no clumps or transfer.  I really liked it....UNTIL...it fell apart.  I had only used it a few times and now it is useless.  The top piece is broken and below, is the result.  I will look into purchasing another, but I was very disappointed.

MAYBELLINE FIT ME concealer - Cafe:  This was on sale at Walgreen's and I featured it in a haul not to long ago.  This is the perfect color for my skin tone.  There is no creasing or fading or caking.  I LOVE this concealer, even better than my fave from AVON.  I will look into getting another, just in case they are doing to discontinue it.

It's So Big mascara:  I got this is a Beauty Box and I LOVE this mascara.  It is lightweight and adds a bit of length.  I like the hourglass brush which distributes the product nicely.  I have no problem with transfer or flaking.  There is also no clumping.  I will look into purchasing a bigger bottle.

BELLAPIERRE Makeup Base:  I got this in a Beauty Box as well and this stuff is worth it's weight in gold.  You can use it as a makeup base or concealer, but I use it as an eyeshadow primer.  There is NO CREASING at all.  No fading either.  I LOVE this primer.  You get a lot in the pot, so you will have it for a long time.  It looks chalky, but it goes on with no color and a little bit is all you need.  The regular price for this is $18.99 per pot.

FORTUNE COOKIE SOAP Cuticle Butter:  I just spoke about this recently in my empties video.  I just repurchased another pot.  I got the original one in my Fortune Cookie Soap Box for Spring 2014.  There are so many different oils in this, it is no wonder it is so moisturizing.  It keeps my cuticles hydrated for hours without any dryness.  It is very soft and does melt into your cuticles, just like butter.  This sells for $8.95 per pot.

I hope you enjoyed the products I liked and did not like for April 2014.  The video for this review is below.  If you have any concerns, questions, or suggestions, please let me know.  Thanks for reading and watching.
